MEET PAUL DE ANDRADE
Founder & Principal Designer
Paul De Andrade is the founder and principal designer of Studio Kestrel. His work sits at the intersection of structure and intuition—shaped by a background that spans biomedical engineering, global travel, and a lifelong engagement with art, building, and making.
Trained as an engineer at Georgia Tech and later involved in research at Harvard, Paul initially followed a scientific path before realizing that his deeper interest lay in how people experience space. That shift led to years of travel and teaching across South America, Europe, Asia, and the Middle East—experiences that sharpened his sensitivity to culture, architecture, and the quiet ways environments influence how we live.
After returning to New York, Paul studied journalism at Columbia University and began working in luxury residential real estate, where his design sensibility took form. In 2019, he founded Studio Kestrel to bring a more integrated, intentional approach to interior design—one grounded in organic modern principles, feng shui, and respect for natural materials.
Today, Paul leads residential and hospitality projects across New York, the Hamptons, Miami, and Los Angeles. His work reflects a steady hand, a disciplined eye, and a belief that spaces should feel composed, personal, and enduring—designed to support real life, not overpower it.
